The influence of high CdCl2 concentrations on antioxidant system of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) etiolated shoots with different length was studied. It is shown that wheat etiolated shoots with different length differs in reaction of their antioxidant system on Cd2+ influence. The rate of lipid peroxidation was the highest in Cd2+ treated shoots with minimal length. Between Cd2+ treated shoots, shoots with maximal length had the highest catalase bat not peroxidase activity.
Key words: antioxidant enzymes, Triticum aestivum L, catalase, peroxidase, Lipid peroxidation, Cd stress
